BACKGROUND
Alma M. Garcia resigned from the Senior Advisory Commission on October 25, 2018. Ms. Garcia was appointed to serve on May 24, 2016. Therefore, one vacancy now exists on the Commission for a partial term ending June 30, 2020.

On October 16, 2018, the City Council conducted interviews during its regular meeting for a different vacancy on the Senior Advisory Commission. A total of six candidates were interviewed with one appointment made that evening.

At the November 13, 2018 Council meeting, Council approved to revisit the applications and consider one of the candidates interviews on October 16 in lieu of conducting a new recruitment process and holding additional interviews. At Council direction, the City Clerk's Office has confirmed that the remaining five candidates are interested in being considered for the current vacancy.

DISCUSSION
The following list of candidates from the October 16 interviews has confirmed interest in the current vacancy.

2. Judy Hubbard
3. MV Kumar
4. Audrey Mitchell
5. Kirankumar Shinde

ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW
The action being considered does not constitute a "project" within the meaning of the California Environmental Quality Act ("CEQA") pursuant to CEQA Guidelines section 15378(a) as it has no potential for resulting in either a direct physical change in the environment, or a reasonably foreseeable indirect physical change in the environment.

FISCAL IMPACT
There is no additional cost to the City other than administrative staff time and expense.
