DISCUSSION
At this study session, Caltrain staff will provide an update on the Caltrain Electrification Project. Caltrain electrification, scheduled to be implemented in 2022, will electrify and upgrade the performance, operations, efficiency, capacity, safety, and reliability of Caltrain’s commuter rail service. The project will include the installation of new electrical infrastructure and the purchase of new electric trains. The study session will include an overview of the current status of the project including the project schedule and milestones, a summary of the Caltrain system, construction activities in Santa Clara, future public outreach, and the Caltrain Business Plan.
