Study Session: Training on the Cost of Development provided by the Urban Land Institute

BACKGROUND
The purpose of this study session is for the Urban Land Institute (ULI) to provide the Planning Commission information on the factors that contribute to the cost of development projects.
DISCUSSION
Urban Land Institute will provide the Commission with a presentation designed to increase understanding of financial feasibility of development projects to better inform the Commission’s decision-making.
ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW
The action being considered does not constitute a “project” within the meaning of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) pursuant to CEQA Guidelines section 15378(b)(45) in that it is an informational report that does not involve any action or recommendation from the Planning Commission or any commitment to any specific project which may result in a potential significant impact on the environment.
FISCAL IMPACT
The cost for the training is $3,000.00, funds are available in the FY2019/20 Planning Commission Adopted Budget.
COORDINATION
This report has been coordinated with the City Attorney’s Office.
PUBLIC CONTACT
Public contact was made by posting the Planning Commission agenda on the City’s official-notice bulletin board outside City Hall Council Chambers. A complete agenda packet is available on the City’s website and in the City Clerk’s Office at least 72 hours prior to a Regular Meeting and 24 hours prior to a Special Meeting.
