BACKGROUND
On May 25, 2021, the City Council approved the agreement with Management Partners, Inc. for facilitation of the City Attorney performance evaluation process. Management Partners was retained to mediate the process and provide a comprehensive summary of the results.
The total contract amount was approved for $12,900.
DISCUSSION
Management Partners completed the work, as described in the Agreement. The original Agreement include one Closed Session meeting with the City Council. One additional meeting was held, for a total of two Closed Session meetings. The additional cost was $1,000.
Therefore, approval of First Amendment to the Agreement is necessary to pay for the additional services provided by the consulting firm.
ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW
This action being considered does not constitute a “project” within the meaning of the California Environmental Quality Act (“CEQA”) pursuant to CEQA Guidelines section 15378(b)(4) in that it is a fiscal activity that does not involve any commitment to any specific project which may result in a potential significant impact on the environment.
FISCAL IMPACT
The City Council approved $12,900 for the original agreement. The total cost of the work performed by the Consultant was $13,900 as a result of one additional Closed Session meeting with the City Council. Additional funding of $1,000 is necessary to cover the expenditures for the work performed. There are sufficient funds in the City Attorney’s Budget to cover this additional cost.

RECOMMENDATION
Recommendation
Approve and authorize the Mayor to execute an Amendment No. 1 to the Agreement, increasing compensation by $1,000, with Management Partners, Inc. for Consultant Services related to the Facilitation of the Evaluation for the City Attorney.
