BACKGROUND
In April 2024, the Federal Department of Justice (DOJ) published the final rule updating its regulations for Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The final rule has specific requirements about how to ensure that web content and mobile applications are accessible to people with disabilities. On April 20, 2026, the DOJ extended the compliance date for this rule. The updated compliance date for the City is April 26, 2027.
Staff will provide a verbal report on the citywide digital accessibility effort.
