Ensure Compliance with Measure J and Manage Levi’s Stadium
DISCUSSION
On May 17, 2022, the Stadium Manager submitted the attached Recommendation to Amend Levi’s Stadium On-Call Electrical Maintenance and Repair Contract with Cupertino Electric, Inc. (Recommendation Memo), along with supporting documentation, to request approval to execute an Amendment No.1 to an existing three-year Levi’s Stadium Electrical Maintenance and Repair Agreement with Cupertino Electric, Inc. to increase the not to exceed amount from $250,000 to $764,298 for the second year of the contract term; and to authorize the Stadium Manager to execute change orders up to $48,489 for the following CapEx Projects:
1. Primary Main Switch Gear Transformer, Battery and 12KV Main Circuit Breakers CapEx Project - The proposed cost for this project based on a time and materials basis, inclusive of the applicable bond, is $193,583. The Stadium Manager is requesting for additional authority to execute change orders up to $16,417 (8.5%) of the proposed cost, for a total not to exceed amount of $210,000. The Stadium Authority FY 2022/23 CapEx Budget includes $210,000 for this project.
2. 12KV Electrical Power Study, Assessment and Replacement at Primary Switch Gear at Quadrant Substations CapEx Project - The proposed cost for this project based on a time and material basis, inclusive of the applicable bond, is $320,715. The Stadium Manager is requesting for additional authority to execute change orders up to $32,072 (10%) of the proposed cost, for a total not to exceed amount of $352,787. The Stadium Authority FY 2022/23 CapEx Budget includes $420,000 for this project.
The Stadium Manager’s Recommendation Memo and supporting documentation (Attachments 2, 6, 7, and 8) describe the projects and the process for determining the scope of work in more detail. After reviewing the documents, staff sent questions for further clarification, which the Stadium Manager responded to (Attachment 3).
