BACKGROUND
The NO MORE Foundation is dedicated to ending domestic and sexual violence by increasing awareness, inspiring action, and fueling culture change. Together with 1,400 allied organizations and local, state, and international chapters, NO MORE sparks grassroots activism to encourage all to be part of ending domestic violence and sexual assault.
For 2025, March 2 through March 8, 2025 is NO MORE week, a week to raise awareness that domestic violence is a public health crisis and impacts victims and survivors in communities. Domestic and sexual violence impacts one in three women globally. One in every four women will experience sexual assault in her lifetime, and one in every six men have had abusive or unwanted sexual experiences in their lifetime. The NO MORE week serves as an opportunity to educate the public of the urgency and prevalence of this epidemic.
The City of Santa Clara demonstrates its support of NO MORE week to bring awareness to services that protect vulnerable members of our community and support survivors. Domestic and sexual violence victims and their families are encouraged to seek assistance from appropriate victims’ services organizations such as Next Door Solutions Crisis Hotline at 408-279-2962, Maitri Crisis Hotline at 888-862-4874, Community Solutions Crisis Hotline 877-END-SADV, Asian Women’s Home Crisis Hotline 408-975-2739 and YWCA Crisis Hotline 800-572-2782.
DISCUSSION
At the City Council meeting on February 25, 2025, the City of Santa Clara will proclaim March 2 through March 8, 2025 as NO MORE week. Representative Sheri Ostdiek from the NO MORE week initiative will be in attendance to accept the proclamation.
ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW
This is an information report only and no action is being taken by the City Council and no environmental review under the California Environmental Quality Act ("CEQA") is required.
FISCAL IMPACT
There is no fiscal impact to the City other than staff time.

This report has been coordinated with the City Manager’s Office.
