Action on a Resolution Revising the Regular Meeting Date for the Parks & Recreation Commission

BACKGROUND
Resolution No. 22-9158 (Attachment 1), adopted by the City Council on November 15, 2022, states that the Parks & Recreation Commission shall hold regular meetings on the third Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m.
DISCUSSION
At the March 19, 2024 Parks & Recreation Commission meeting, the Commission recommended that Council approve a Resolution (Attachment 2) revising the regular Parks & Recreation Commission meeting date and time to the third Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m., effective July 1, 2024. This is also to provide the updated schedule for the remainder of calendar year 2024 (Attachment 3).
The Draft Resolution also establishes that meetings are subject to cancellation at the discretion of the City Manager for agenda management purposes. Lastly, the Resolution also provides that should the third Monday fall on a City holiday, the meeting would be held on the next non-holiday Monday.
ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW
The action being considered does not constitute a “project” within the meaning of the California Environmental Quality Act (“CEQA”) pursuant to CEQA Guidelines section 15378(b)(5) in that it is a governmental organizational or administrative activity that will not result in direct or indirect changes in the environment.
FISCAL IMPACT
There is no cost to the City other than staff time and expense.

Public contact was made by posting the Council agenda on the City’s official-notice bulletin board outside City Hall Council Chambers. A complete agenda packet is available on the City’s website and in the City Clerk’s Office at least 72 hours prior to a Regular Meeting and 24 hours prior to a Special Meeting.
