Recognition of Wilcox High School Varsity Football Team for Winning the Central Coast Section Division II Football Championship Title and Recognition of Brayden Rosa as the Santa Clara County Player of the Year

Report

BACKGROUND

Wilcox High School is one of the comprehensive high schools in the Santa Clara Unified School District. For the 2024 season, the Wilcox High School Varsity Football team went undefeated as one of the top public schools in the area. The Peninsula Athletic League (PAL) Bay Division is an extremely competitive league and Wilcox High School team’s record of 5-0 is an impressive feat for the Wilcox High School Chargers. After Wilcox High School won the PAL Bay Division League, the team went on to win the Central Coast Section (CCS) Division II Football Championship Title against Palma High School (35-26) on November 30, 2024.

Wilcox High School Senior Brayden Rosa was the undoubted leader of the team. As the team Quarterback, Brayden Rosa helped lead the Chargers to win the CCS Division II title. Brayden was the PAL Bay Division’s Most Valuable Player and earned the All-Bay Area News Group Santa Clara County Player of the Year. He rushed for 1,850 yards, gained 338 through the air and passed for 84. As the Chargers’ best defensive player as well, he compiled 127 tackles, nine tackles for loss, one sack, two interceptions and five forced fumbles defensively. In addition, Brayden Rosa received the All State Team recognition.
