DISCUSSION
Staff requests continuance of this item to the September 2, 2026 Planning Commission meeting for additional preparation of the annexation discussion and associated documents. The item was noticed to be heard at the Planning Commission meeting of August 26, 2026, and at the City Council meeting of September 22, 2026. The City Council date of September 22, 2026 will remain the same. The applicants were informed of the schedule change.
ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW
No environmental determination is necessary for a continuance. An environmental report and analysis will be included with the September 2, 2026, Planning Commission report.
PUBLIC CONTACT
A newspaper notice was published in the August 5, 2026 issue of the Santa Clara Weekly for a Planning Commission hearing of this item to be held on August 26, 2026 and City Council hearing on September 22, 2026, subsequently. Should the Commission open the public hearing and then continue the hearing for this project to September 2, 2026, additional noticing will not be required.

Recommendation
Staff recommends that the Planning Commission open the public hearing on this item and then immediately continue the proposed project to the September 2, 2026 Planning Commission meeting.
