Presentation of Levy Premium Foodservice Community Enrichment Plan
Report
BACKGROUND
Levy Premium Foodservice Limited Partnership (Levy) was selected through a competitive Request for Proposal process and on October 29, 2019, Council approved the award of an agreement for food and beverage operations at the Santa Clara Convention Center to Levy. Levy began its transition to the Center on November 1, 2019, and took over full operations on January 1, 2020.
The initial term of the agreement is 5.5 years ending June 30, 2025, with two five-year options to extend the agreement through June 30, 2035. As part of Levy's commitment to Santa Clara, Levy provided an up-front capital investment of $5,000,000 and a community enrichment investment of $750,000.
Levy's community enrichment investment is specifically intended for programs designed to drive community enrichment and develop local partnerships, and to support the economic development of Santa Clara with a strong focus on skill development and career training. Council had requested for staff to return with an update on the status of Levy's community enrichment investment.
