POINTS FOR CONSIDERATION
* This item was continued from the May 13, 2026, Development Review Hearing due to public concerns regarding the landscape plan for the proposed project. The project proposes to remove a large oak tree near the center of the property in order to construct the new residence. The oak tree is listed as a 'protected tree' per Santa Clara City Code Section 12.35.080. The applicant has worked with the surrounding property owners regarding the landscape plan and has received an arborist report for the large oak tree in question. The applicant has volunteered to plant additional native trees and shrubs on the property.
* The surrounding neighborhood mostly features original one-story single-family residences. See Vicinity Map in Attachment 1.
* The existing parcel contains the original 1940s one-story single-family residence of approximately 1,600 square-feet.
