BACKGROUND
Valley Water was founded in 1929 and provides safe, clean water, flood protection and stewardship of streams. Valley Water’s mission is to provide Silicon Valley safe, clean water for a healthy life, environment, and economy. Valley Water provides the City of Santa Clara water resources as a wholesale water agency.
DISCUSSION
The Santa Clara Valley Water District (Valley Water) will provide an overview of Valley Water’s key projects, ongoing work and how Valley Water’s services connect to Santa Clara residential water rates. Valley Water Board Vice Chair Richard P. Santos and Director Shiloh Ballard, whose districts include the City Santa Clara will participate in the presentation. In addition, Chief Financial Officer Darin Taylor and Chief Operating Officer of Water Utility Enterprise Aaron Baker of Valley Water will be in attendance for the presentation.

This is an information report only and no action is being taken by the City Council and no environmental review under the California Environmental Quality Act (“CEQA”) is required.

There is no fiscal impact.
