REPORT TO COUNCIL
SUBJECT
Title
Proclaim March 4 through March 8, 2024 as Divorce with Respect Week

Report
BACKGROUND
Divorce with Respect Week was originated in California in 2021 by Collaborative Practice California, a nonprofit association of legal, financial, and mental health professionals who specialize in helping divorcing couples navigate the dissolution of their marriage. The goal of Divorce with Respect Week is to provide information about collaborative divorce or mediation as alternative to traditional divorce litigation. These no-court options are meant to focus on the goals and interests of each part and reach a resolution that benefits all involved. As part of Divorce with Respect Week, members of Collaborative Practice California will offer consultations to California residents through the week of March 4 through 8.

DISCUSSION
At the March 5, 2024 City Council meeting, Melisa Lenon, Marriage and Family Therapist and Vice President of Collaborative Practice Silicon Valley, will receive a proclamation for Divorce with Respect Week.

ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW
This is an informative report only and no action is being taken by the City Council and no environmental review under the California Environmental Quality Act ("CEQA") is required.
