DISCUSSION
Staff are requesting a continuance of this item to the July 14, 2026 City Council meeting to allow additional time for review and preparation of the resolution and related documents. Because this is a City-initiated project, there are no private applicants involved.
ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW
No environmental determination is necessary for a continuance. An environmental determination will be included with the July 14th report.
PUBLIC CONTACT
A newspaper notice was published in the March 18, 2026 issue of the Santa Clara Weekly describing the proposed adoption of the Third Zoning Code Cleanup Ordinance and the proposed changes to the Zoning Map. Should the Council open the public hearing and then continue the hearing for this project to July 14, 2026, additional noticing will not be required.

Recommendation
Staff recommend that the City Council open the public hearing on this item and then immediately continue the proposed project to July 14, 2026.
