Report
BACKGROUND
Caltrain is a regional commuter rail service that provides passenger transportation along the San Francisco Peninsula, connecting San Francisco, San Mateo County, and Santa Clara County. Governed by the Peninsula Corridor Joint Powers Board, Caltrain serves as a key component of the Bay Area's multimodal transportation network, offering rail service for commuters and other travelers while coordinating with local and regional transit partners. In addition to operating passenger rail service, Caltrain is responsible for corridor planning, capital improvements, station access enhancements, and major infrastructure investments designed to improve safety, reliability, system capacity, and sustainability along the Peninsula rail corridor.
DISCUSSION
