BACKGROUND
The Santa Clara City Library Foundation and Friends (SCCLFF) is a non-profit organization dedicated to supplementing public funding to expand and enhance the Santa Clara City Library's programs & services.

The purpose of the Santa Clara City Library Foundation & Friends is to enrich lifelong learning by supporting the Santa Clara City Library.

The SCCLFF actively seeks gifts, grants, and bequests. The organization also raises funds through the sale of donated used books. Friends' book sales are currently held at the Central Park Library 7 days a week.

Funds raised are spent on classes, events, and resources. For the last fiscal year (FY24/25) the following were funded:
* 29.9% on classes and events for adults
* 28.5% on Comic Con
* 17.9% on programs for children, teens, and families
* 15.4% on Summer Adventure, the library's Summer Reading Program
* 8.3% on literacy, English as a Second Language (ESL), and Read Santa Clara

DISCUSSION
Since 2001, SCCLFF has raised over $4 million dollars and continues to be a valuable resource and partner for the libraries. 2026 marks the Foundation's 25th Anniversary to be celebrated at a fundraising Gala on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at the Triton Museum of Art.

JoAnn T. Davis, Executive Director of Santa Clara City Library Foundation & Friends will be in attendance to accept the Commendation.

FISCAL IMPACT
There is no fiscal impact to the City other than staff time.
