DISCUSSION
Staff are requesting a continuance of this item to the June 10, 2026 Planning Commission meeting because of the lack of staffing available for the May 20, 2026 Planning Commission meeting. Because this is a City-initiated project, there are no private applicants involved.
ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW
No environmental determination is necessary for a continuance. An environmental determination will be included with the June 10th report.
PUBLIC CONTACT
A newspaper notice was published in the March 18, 2026 issue of the Santa Clara Weekly for a public hearing to be held on April 8, 2026, describing the proposed adoption of the Third Zoning Code Cleanup Ordinance and the proposed changes to the Zoning Map. On April 8, 2026, the Commission opened the public hearing and voted to continue the item to the May 20, 2026 meeting. Should the Commission reconvene the public hearing and then again continue the hearing for this project to June 10, 2026, additional noticing will not be required.
RECOMMENDATION
Recommendation
Staff recommend that the Planning Commission reconvene the public hearing on this item and then immediately continue the proposed project to June 10, 2026.
