BACKGROUND
The City Manager’s Office and City Clerk’s Office are implementing an annual workplan process for all Boards, Committees, and Commissions within the City. For the Planning Commission who has a set scope per Charter and is quasi-judicial body, no workplan is needed, but a broad-based list of types of items needed to conduct business such as relevant training may go before the bodies.
DISCUSSION
In accordance with the new annual workplan process, the Planning Commission shall develop a yearly workplan by March 2025. Following completion, the workplan will be reviewed and approved in May 2025 with a corresponding Council presentation. At a June or July City Council meeting, the Chair and/or Vice Chair will present the workplan to the City Council. The workplan will be implemented starting in August of each year.
Attachment 1 to this report is a draft of the workplan. This was developed based on past study session requests, past conference attendance, and the list of land use priorities that the Planning Commission presented to the City Council for its consideration during its priority setting process in 2024. Staff will update the workplan to include additional details after the meeting.
