Santa Clara Station Area Task Force Review of Design Guidelines and Development Policies

BACKGROUND
The Station Area Task Force (SATF) last met on March 19, 2026. Since that meeting, WRT (consultant team) has continued refining the land use plan and has initiated preparation of the draft design guidelines and development policies.
DISCUSSION
The purpose of the May SATF meeting will be to discuss the following:
1. Communities - Next Steps
a. Social infrastructure benchmarking research to inform population projections
b. Prioritization of incentive strategies and potential implementation mechanisms
2. Development Caps
a. Evaluation of ratio caps to prevent dominance by a single land use type
3. Mobility Policies and Strategies
a. Transportation Demand Management (TDM) and parking approaches
b. Key policies to support a multimodal, pedestrian-oriented neighborhood
4. Updated Project Schedule
