Enhance Community Engagement and Transparency

BACKGROUND
MSR Design (Consultant), the City's selected consultant, is working with the Library to create a Library Facilities Master Plan to project for the future of library services for the next 20 years. This project includes meetings with staff, the community and community stakeholders. Other boards and commissions have participated in providing input for the Library Facilities Master Plan, including the Youth Advisory Commission and the Planning Commission. These meetings will help inform the recommendations for the Library and ensure that the Consultant is hearing and addressing the community's needs.

DISCUSSION
The purpose of this report and presentation is to support a study session on this topic and to receive input from the Parks & Recreation Commission on the development of the City's Library Facilities Master Plan.

The Consultant will query the Parks & Recreation Commission about goals for the Santa Clara community and how the Library can help the community reach those goals. The discussion will include a brief presentation and request for input on the needs of the Santa Clara community.
