REPORT TO COUNCIL

SUBJECT
Title
Joint Dinner Meeting with Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee

Report
BACKGROUND
On February 10, 2026, the City Council directed staff to reinstate joint dinners with the City’s Board, Commissions, and Committees (BCC). These dinners provide an opportunity for BCC members to share accomplishments, discuss objectives, and engage directly with the City Council.

The joint dinners were initially scheduled to begin in June 2026; however, they were postponed accommodating urgent City business and other scheduling conflicts. Staff continue to coordinate with the BCCs to schedule these joint dinners.

DISCUSSION
Consistent with the City Council’s commitment to strengthen communication and engagement with the City’s Board, Commissions, and Committees, the City Council will meet periodically with BCCs to receive regular updates on their activities.

At this joint dinner, the Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee will provide the City Council with an update on its accomplishments and activities during Fiscal Year 2025/26.

ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW
This is an information report only; no action is being taken by the City Council, therefore no environmental review under the California Environmental Quality Act (“CEQA”) is required.

FISCAL IMPACT
There is no fiscal impact to the City other than staff time.

PUBLIC CONTACT
Public contact was made by posting the Council agenda on the City’s official-notice bulletin board outside City Hall Council Chambers. A complete agenda packet is available on the City’s website and in the City Clerk’s Office at least 72 hours prior to a Regular Meeting and 24 hours prior to a Special Meeting. A hard copy of any agenda report may be requested by contacting the City Clerk’s Office at (408) 615-2220, email clerk@santaclaraca.gov or at the public information desk at any City of Santa Clara public library.
