Retroactive Vote to Expend Funds for Planning Commission Conference and Travel

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
At the June 10, 2026 Planning Commission Meeting Commissioners discussed the following item:
1. Expend funds for Commissioners to attend the California American Planning Association Conference taking place October 3-6, 2026 in Anaheim, California and the need to register Commissioners before the next Planning Commission meeting to attend to utilize the early registration discount amount of $700.
Commissioner Huang notified staff he would like to attend the conference and he has been registered for the event. Total cost for the conference will be approximately $2250 which includes conference registration, accommodations, airfare, and incidental costs.
FISCAL IMPACT
Funds would be expended from the Planning Commission Budget. The remaining balance on the budget is $17,000.

Public contact was made by posting the Council agenda on the City’s official-notice bulletin board outside City Hall Council Chambers. A complete agenda packet is available on the City’s website and in the City Clerk’s Office at least 72 hours prior to a Regular Meeting and 24 hours prior to a Special Meeting.
