REPORT TO SENIOR ADVISORY COMMISSION
SUBJECT
Action on a Resolution Approving the 2027 Senior Advisory Commission Calendar of Meetings
BACKGROUND
City Charter Section 1003 states that each of the boards and commissions of the City shall hold regular meetings as required by ordinance. City Code Section 2.120.030 states that each board or commission shall hold regular meetings at the times and on the days indicated by resolution of the City Council, and that such resolutions may be amended from time to time by further Council resolution. In 1987, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 5195 to set the dates and times of Senior Advisory Commission (Commission) meetings (Attachment 1). Resolution 24-9340 (Attachment 2) set the regular Senior Advisory Commission meetings to the third Monday of the month at 5:00 p.m.
The purpose of this item is to recommend a proposed 2027 calendar of meetings (Attachment 3) and draft resolution establishing the calendar of meetings (Attachment 4).
DISCUSSION
It is the responsibility of the Commission to recommend an annual calendar of meetings to the City Council for adoption of an amended resolution. In accordance with past practice, should a regular meeting fall on a City holiday, the meeting may be rescheduled as needed.
Enclosed is a proposed 2027 calendar of meetings for the Commission’s consideration. This calendar includes eleven (11) meetings to be held on the third Monday of each month at 5:00 p.m. Special Meetings are proposed for the months of January, February, and September.
Upon approval of a proposed calendar by the Commission, the item would move forward with a recommendation that the City Council adopt Commission’s 2027 meeting calendar as recommended by the Commission.
