BACKGROUND
Srivalli Adarapu is a resident of the city of Santa Clara and is an 11th grade student at St. Francis High School. Srivalli has received the Gold Presidential Award for the President's Volunteer Service Award for over 100 hours of volunteering in 2023. Srivalli is the co-founder of a youth-led organization called Pathoscribe, in which she leads a team of writers and artists to publish articles as a means of raising health awareness and mitigating the stigma surrounding diseases and disorders. Srvialli made handmade holiday cards of appreciation for the Santa Clara Fire Department, Santa Clara Police Department, and JW House for the past three years.

Anushka Jain is a 7th grade student at Don Callejon Arts and Design School. In May 2024, Anushka self-published an eBook and paperback edition of "The Burlington House". The book has already received five-star reviews from readers and has sold multiple copies in both eBook and paperback formats to buyers in the United States and India.

DISCUSSION
At the November 12, 2024 City Council meeting, students Srivalli Adarapu and Anushka Jain will receive Mayoral Certificates of Recognition for their accomplishments and contributions to the Santa Clara community.

This is an information report only and no action is being taken by the City Council and no environmental review under the California Environmental Quality Act ("CEQA") is required.
FISCAL IMPACT
There is no fiscal impact to the City other than staff time.
