REPORT TO YOUTH COMMISSION
SUBJECT
Title
Discussion and Possible Action on Youth Commission FY 2024/25 Work Plan & Goals
Report
BACKGROUND
The Youth Commission develops an annual work plan through discussion of current trends and civic needs that relate to the youth and teen population. The annual work plan drives the activities of the Commission throughout the term. The Commission established goals over the past few terms. These included promoting health and wellness, providing public outreach and education, and fostering community inclusiveness.
DISCUSSION
At the October 8, 2024, meeting, the Youth Commission prioritized three themes for the FY 2024/25 Work Plan: Public Outreach and Education, Community Building with Santa Clara residents, and Youth Empowerment. The Commission then established committees for each activity theme. The first Committee meetings are scheduled for November 12, 2024. Each Committee will discuss specific goals and activities to promote their respective theme.
ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW
The action being considered does not constitute a "project" within the meaning of the California Environmental Quality Act ("CEQA") pursuant to CEQA Guidelines section 15378(b)(5) in that it is a governmental organizational or administrative activity that will not result in direct or indirect changes in the environment.
