BACKGROUND
The Board of Library Trustees reviewed and updated their annual work plan at their meetings on May 4, 2026 and June 1, 2026. The FY 2026-2027 work plan identifies the Board's priorities, including support for the Library's budget, Strategic Plan Implementation, and Facilities Master Plan implementation, which is supported in part with Measure I funding. The work plan also prioritizes Board support of the Library with a planned review of policy updates, development of liaison partnerships with other Boards and Commissions, and exploration of Board Development opportunities.
DISCUSSION
The Board of Library Trustees has prepared a draft annual work plan. The Board will hold discussion and take action on the following items:
* Review and approve the annual work plan for FY 2026-27, incorporating any final revisions.
* Take action on the following priorities which are included in the work plan:
o Select liaisons to support cooperation with other City Boards and Commissions.
o Identify topics for informational reports to be provided by staff, to further Board development and knowledge of the Library.
Discussion will include information from staff on updates on work plan review by Council and the Board dinner with Council.
ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW
The action being considered does not constitute a "project" within the meaning of the California Environmental Quality Act ("CEQA") pursuant to CEQA Guidelines section 15378(b)(5) in that it is a governmental organizational or administrative activity that will not result in direct or indirect changes in the environment.
FISCAL IMPACT
There is no fiscal impact.
