Recognition of Santa Clara High School Baseball Team Central Coast Section (CCS) Champs

BACKGROUND

This season, the Santa Clara High School Baseball Team won a school record 29 games with a league MVP, Jaxton Chao, for the first time since 2005, winning their league. The team also won the Central Coast Section (CCS) baseball title for the first time in Santa Clara High School’s history and finished as a runner up in the NorCal baseball tournament.

DISCUSSION

At the July 15, 2025, City Council meeting, the City Council will recognize the Santa Clara High School Baseball Team in honor of winning the CCS Title for the first time in the school’s history.

This is an informative report only and no action is being taken by the City Council and no environmental review under the California Environmental Quality Act ("CEQA") is required.

 

FISCAL IMPACT

There is no fiscal impact to the City other than staff time.
