DISCUSSION

Staff requests a continuance of this item to the July 14, 2026 City Council meeting. The item was noticed to be heard at the Planning Commission meeting of May 20, 2026, and at the City Council meeting of June 23, 2026, however, due to scheduling conflicts for key staff for the May 20, 2026 Planning Commission meeting, the item required a continuance to the June 10, 2026, Planning Commission meeting. Consequently, the item requires continuation from the June 23, 2026 City Council meeting to the July 14, 2026 City Council meeting. The applicants were informed of the schedule change.

ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW

No environmental determination is necessary for a continuance.  An environmental determination will be included with the July 14, 2026, Council report.

FISCAL IMPACT

There is no fiscal impact associated with the action other than administrative staff time and any additional noticing costs.

PUBLIC CONTACT

A newspaper notice was published in the April 29, 2026, issue of the Santa Clara Weekly describing the proposed project and original public hearing meeting times. Should the City Council open the public hearing and then continue the hearing for this project to July 14, 2026, additional noticing will not be required.
