Continuance of the Interviews and Appointment to the Planning Commission

BACKGROUND
At the January 23, 2018 Council meeting, Council declared a vacancy on the Planning Commission for a partial term ending June 30, 2021 and set the interview/appointment date for the March 6, 2018 Council meeting. Due to the number of applications received and with other priority policy items agendized for March 6, it is recommended to continue the interviews/appointment to a future Council date to allow sufficient time for interviews of all applicants.
DISCUSSION
Past City practice has been to conduct Planning Commission interviews during a Council meeting. The Mayor and Council Office is currently polling for a Special Council meeting date in April. Once the interview date is finalized, the applicants will be notified and it will also be posted on the City's website, social media and in the City Manager's blog.
The Office of the City Clerk received 12 applications by the February 27, 2018 administrative deadline from the following individuals:
