BACKGROUND
On August 5, 2018, Senior Master Sergeant Ronald S. Blancas was promoted to the rank of Chief Master Sergeant.
Chief Master Sergeant Ronald S. Blancas, a resident of Santa Clara, is the Force Support Flight Superintendent for the 129th Rescue Wing of the Moffett Air National Guard Base in California. He is responsible for airman and family readiness, base education and training, services sustainment, human resources, and all personnel actions of more than 1,000 service members assigned to the 129th Rescue Wing and Geographically Separated Units. He also serves as the primary advisor to the commander on all matters concerning the welfare, morale, training, utilization, professional development, and career progression of the unit's enlisted force.
DISCUSSION
As a Special Order of the Business, the Mayor and Council will recognize Chief Master Sergeant Ronald S. Blancas on his recent promotion from Senior Master Sergeant to the rank of Chief Master Sergeant.
ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW
The action being considered does not constitute a "project" within the meaning of the California Environmental Quality Act ("CEQA") pursuant to CEQA Guidelines section 15378(b)(5) in that it is a governmental organizational or administrative activity that will not result in direct or indirect changes in the environment.
FISCAL IMPACT
There is no fiscal impact other than staff time.
