Youth Commission Review of 2019 Calendar of Upcoming Events

 

Report

BACKGROUND

Youth Commissioners participate in various City-wide special events and Youth Commission hosted events and activities.  Future event dates are shared with the Commission throughout the term in order to plan accordingly.

 

DISCUSSION

Youth Commissioners will review upcoming Youth Commission and City-related events in 2019, including:  confirming commissioner attendance for the Winter Social at the Teen Center on January 13, 2019; reviewing logistics for attending and presenting at the Students for Green High Schools Conference at Google on January 26, 2019; and, confirming dates and volunteer shifts for the February 8, 2019 Sunset Cinema at Central Library.

 

ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW

The action being considered does not constitute a “project” within the meaning of the California Environmental Quality Act (“CEQA”) pursuant to CEQA Guidelines section 15378(b)(5) in that it is a governmental organizational or administrative activity that will not result in direct or indirect changes in the environment.

Public contact was made by posting the Youth Commission’s agenda on the City’s official-notice bulletin board outside City Hall Council Chambers. A complete agenda packet is available on the City’s website and in the City Clerk’s Office at least 72 hours prior to a Regular Meeting and 24 hours prior to a Special Meeting.
