Action on Adoption of Ordinance No. 1995 Establishing a Temporary Moratorium on Motorized Scooter and Bike Share Programs

Report
BACKGROUND
At the December 20, 2018 special Council meeting, Ordinance No. 1995 was passed for the purpose of publication. Pursuant to City Charter Sections 808 and 812, proposed Ordinance No. 1995 was published on January 2, 2019, and copies were posted in three public places.

Upon adoption of such regulations, the moratorium would be repealed, but in any event the moratorium will expire no later than December 19, 2019.

The City Council adopted an emergency ordinance establishing the moratorium, which went into effect on December 20, 2018. Tonight's action is the adoption of a regular ordinance accomplishing the same goal.
