Report
BACKGROUND
The Youth Commission has integrated environmental awareness into some of the Commission's FY2018-19 Work Plan Goals. The 5K fun run committee is hoping to encourage access to the Central Park's public parkland, use alternative transportation to attend the event, and minimize participants' carbon footprint.

DISCUSSION
Youth Commissioner Natasha Yen shared information about Los Altos High School's "Students for Green High Schools Conference" with the Youth Commission's 5K Fun Run committee members. Committee members attended the conference on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at the Google campus in Sunnyvale. Students from over 20 area schools and organizations were in attendance and many presented their environmental efforts at the conference. Conference website: https://sfghsconference.lahs.club/.
