Youth Commission Review of 2019 Calendar of Upcoming Events

BACKGROUND
The Youth Commission hosts events and activities for the City of Santa Clara. Youth Commissioners participate and volunteer at various City-wide special events. Future event dates are shared with the Commission throughout the term. For planning purposes, Commissioners are asked to confirm attendance and involvement in special events.
DISCUSSION
Youth Commissioners will review upcoming Youth Commission and City-related events in 2019, including: confirming dates and volunteer shifts for the April 12, 2019 Sunset Cinema at Central Park, begin discussing roles and commissioner responsibilities to execute the 5K run scheduled for Sunday, April 28, 2019, and the Inclusive Makerspace on Saturday, June 1, 2019.

The action being considered does not constitute a “project” within the meaning of the California Environmental Quality Act (“CEQA”) pursuant to CEQA Guidelines section 15378(b)(5) in that it is a governmental organizational or administrative activity that will not result in direct or indirect changes in the environment.

Public contact was made by posting the Youth Commission’s agenda on the City’s official-notice bulletin board outside City Hall Council Chambers. A complete agenda packet is available on the City’s website and in the City Clerk’s Office at least 72 hours prior to a Regular Meeting and 24 hours prior to a Special Meeting.
