Youth Commission Committee Report on Work Plan Goal - Inclusiveness
Report
BACKGROUND
The Youth Commission FY 2019/20 Work Plan includes a goal to foster inclusiveness among their peers and within the community. During the past two terms, commissioners have hosted the Inclusive Makerspace, a STEM-based event for youth with special needs. This term, the Commission is seeking to celebrate a variety of cultures present in the San Francisco Bay Area, specifically those within the City of Santa Clara.
DISCUSSION
The Youth Commission’s Inclusiveness Committee (Committee) members will provide an update to meeting attendees on ideas to implement the Committee’s goals. Committee members were invited to attend the Friday Night Live event at the Triton Museum on March 6, 2020. Members will share their experience and ideas on how the Cultural Commission and Youth Commission may collaborate to bring a youth element to the event.
