REPORT TO YOUTH COMMISSION

SUBJECT
Title
Youth Commission Committee Report on Work Plan Goal - Public Outreach

Report
BACKGROUND
The Youth Commission chose to continue Public Outreach as one of their FY 2019/20 Work Plan Goals. The purpose of the Public Outreach Committee (Committee) is to raise community awareness about the Youth Commission and other important topics including, but not limited to: environmentalism, inclusiveness, and youth in government. This Committee will also offer marketing support on Youth Commission activities and events.

DISCUSSION
The Committee members will provide an update on their objectives and activities to the Commission. Committee members have shared commissioner biographies, Fast Fact Fridays, and term and scholarship information via social media channels. The committee will begin to share information of upcoming events from the Parks & Recreation Department, Youth Commission, and coordinating with partners such as the City's outreach efforts for Census 2020 beginning in April.

ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW
The action being considered does not constitute a "project" within the meaning of the California Environmental Quality Act ("CEQA") pursuant to CEQA Guidelines section 15378(b)(5) in that it is a governmental organizational or administrative activity that will not result in direct or indirect changes in the environment.

PUBLIC CONTACT
Public contact was made by posting the Youth Commission's agenda on the City's official-notice bulletin board outside City Hall Council Chambers. A complete agenda packet is available on the City's website and in the City Clerk's Office at least 72 hours prior to a Regular Meeting and 24 hours prior to a Special Meeting. A hard copy of any agenda report may be requested by contacting the City Clerk's Office at (408) 615-2220, e-mail clerk@santaclaraca.gov or at the public information desk at any City of Santa Clara public library.
