Youth Commission Committee Reports on Work Plan Goals for FY2021/22
Report
BACKGROUND
The Youth Commission FY 2021/22 Work Plan includes three themes, with associated activities, as itemized below.
1. Community Building
a. Multicultural event to highlight the diversity of the City.
b. Spotlighting cultural diversity through multimedia vignettes.
2. Empowering Youth
a. Providing accessible opportunities for positive youth expression.
b. Sharing resources for youth education, employment, and service opportunities in the community.
3. Public Outreach & Engagement
a. Support committees with promoting information via social media.
b. Organizing and performing acts of kindness to reach specific populations including, but not limited to, seniors, those with special needs and unsheltered youth.
DISCUSSION
Members from each ad hoc committee will provide an initial update and overview of their respective Committee’s goal and supporting activities to meeting attendees.
ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW
The action being considered does not constitute a “project” within the meaning of the California Environmental Quality Act (“CEQA”) pursuant to CEQA Guidelines section 15378(b)(5) in that it is a governmental organizational or administrative activity that will not result in direct or indirect changes in the environment.

Public contact was made by posting the Youth Commission’s agenda on the City’s official-notice bulletin board outside City Hall Council Chambers. A complete agenda packet is available on the City’s website and in the City Clerk’s Office at least 72 hours prior to a Regular Meeting and 24 hours prior to a Special Meeting.
