BACKGROUND
The Police Department oversees the City's parking citation program. The program is a source of City revenue that has netted $1,439,220 over the past six fiscal years, as shown below. The COVID-19 pandemic negatively impacted revenues in Fiscal Years 2019/20 and 2020/21. However, the Police Department expects revenues to return to pre-COVID-19 levels with increased parking demand and as staffing levels increase to conduct enforcement.

The Police Department has been successful in controlling costs and maximizing net revenues to the City by outsourcing the task of processing citations, issuing notices, collecting payments, and pursuing collection efforts for delinquent accounts. Currently, the City is under contract with Data Ticket, Inc. for these services. The agreement with Data Ticket is set to expire on August 31, 2022.
