SUBJECT
Title
Youth Commission FY 2023/24 Work Plan & Goals

Report
BACKGROUND
The Youth Commission develops an annual work plan for each term which is created through a discussion of current trends relating to the youth and teen population. In recent terms, Commissioners have chosen a variety of goals including:
* Community Building with Santa Clara residents
* Public Outreach and education; and
* Youth Engagement and Empowerment in the community.

DISCUSSION
At the February 13, 2024 meeting, the Youth Commissioners discussed their work plan priorities and goals for this term. The work plan's priorities include:
* Community Building with our Santa Clara residents: Community events and intergenerational activities.
* Public outreach and education: online resources for Santa Clara residents and volunteering opportunities.
* Youth Engagement and Empowerment in the community: teen talk podcasts, study support for high school students, and mental health challenges.

Commissioners have formed committees for each priority to develop specific plans of action. At the March 12, 2024 meeting, Committee members will provide updates on their committee activities and actions. (Attachment 1)
