BACKGROUND
The Board of Library Trustees maintains cooperative coordination with the Board of Directors of the Santa Clara City Library Foundation and Friends through the appointment of a liaison to attend meetings of the Foundation's Board of Directors. The Board has expressed interest in exploring the idea of attending meetings and developing a relationship with other Boards and Commissions that have similar focus on community service.
Other Boards and Commissions which the Board of Library Trustees might coordinate with include:
* Youth Commission (meets the 2nd Tuesday of each month, September-May, at 6:00 PM)
* Senior Advisory Commission (meets the 4th Monday of each month at 10:00 AM)
* Cultural Commission (meets the 1st Monday of each month at 7:00 PM)
* Parks and Recreation Commission (meets the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 7:00 PM)
DISCUSSION
The Board of Library Trustees will discuss opportunities, intended outcomes and next steps for connecting with other City of Santa Clara Boards and Commissions that have a similar focus on community service.
ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW
The action being considered does not constitute a "project" within the meaning of the California Environmental Quality Act ("CEQA") pursuant to CEQA Guidelines section 15378(a) as it has no potential for resulting in either a direct physical change in the environment, or a reasonably foreseeable indirect physical change in the environment.

There is no fiscal impact.
