On July 17, 2018, Council adopted Ordinance No. 1983 which in part established that the Elected City Clerk's monthly stipend will be set by the Salary Setting Commission beginning in 2019.

If approved by Council, commencing on July 1, 2019, and every two years on July 1 thereafter, the compensation of the Chief of Police will be set by the Salary Setting Commission consisting of five members to be appointed by the Civil Service Commission, as set forth in City Charter Section 702.
