Presentation and Input on the Pruneridge Avenue Complete Streets Plan

BACKGROUND
In May 2019, the City of Santa Clara received a Caltrans Sustainable Communities Transportation Planning Grant to develop the Pruneridge Avenue Complete Streets Plan (Plan) along a two-mile section of Pruneridge Avenue from Pomeroy Avenue to Winchester Boulevard (Attachment 1). In December 2020, the project was initiated with the assistance from the consultants, Alta Planning + Design, and will take approximately two years to complete. The Plan will identify bicycle and pedestrian improvements necessary to expand the existing roadway network, complete network gaps, provide greater connectivity to public transportation, increase mobility, and encourage the public to choose more sustainable modes of transportation. The Plan also includes reviewing potential options for parking removal and lane reductions. This meeting is to introduce the draft concepts and obtain feedback on the concepts from the Parks & Recreation Commission.
DISCUSSION
The City and consultant Alta Planning + Design will present draft design concepts for the Pruneridge Avenue Complete Streets Plan to the Parks & Recreation Commission through an interactive presentation. The Commission will be invited to ask questions and share feedback on the design concepts (Attachment 2). Alta will collect input via online polling over the course of the presentation and during the discussion period.
